Stop The Construction of a Hyper-Scale BESS & Data Centre on 850 Acres of Quality Farm Land in Devon
This is the website for the Action Group opposing the proposed AI data centre and BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) next to the historic market town of Great Torrington, North Devon.
This is not just the largest data centre in Europe, which will desecrate farm land forever, but it is also an enormous BESS, the 10th largest in the world. Huge BESS sites offer no benefits to an area, which is why they are usually built on desert and barren landscapes, except this one, which is why the focus of our campaign is both the data centre and proposed BESS.

Our Legal Challenge
We are putting together a fact based opposition to respond quickly when Xlinks release their planning applications, in order to get the plans rejected. We are also preparing for judicial review beyond that.
