Take Action
Key Actions You Can Do
-
Petition. Join CPRE Devon's Army of Objectors now. Many .gov petitions have been identified by our campaign as very helpful to this cause. Please take the time to sign these petitions and share them with your friends and family for them to add their names. This is all about numbers: the more we get, the more likely it'll be discussed in the UK Parliament. They represent you, so let them do the job they were elected for.
-
Contact. Please take the time to write to whoever you think will listen and should be involved in this campaign against the data centre and BESS. Tell them about the Xlinks proposal, about the harm and damage, and ask them to support this campaign.
-
Fund. We have a crowdfund account to assist in getting this message out there. We need to promote and pay for our action, and your contribution, no matter how small, will help us.
Petition
Join CPRE's Army of Objectors. They will notify you of when and how to effectively object to the council planners on the Xlinks proposal when the time is right. This is a fantastic scheme and we need everyone right now to join.
.gov list is currently updating — come back soon.
Contact
If you live in North Devon, see the list below for who we suggest are good first contacts for you. But also think about who you know that needs to know. Maybe they don't know Xlinks want to desecrate 850 acres of prime agricultural land in North Devon. Contact them.
Fund
Our crowdfund is here. All this money goes directly to us, so please make this your first choice.
Our supporters are CPRE Devon, and they also need support, so join them too if you'd like.
Looking for ways to get involved and support our campaign? Here's how you can help
Please join CPRE Devon's "Army of Registered Objectors."
We are working to produce a range of viable, relevant and significant objections to the planning applications once they are released by Xlinks. Only fact based objections that directly relate back to planning legislation are of any importance when you are finally given the chance to write in and give your formal objection to the plan. By registering with CPRE Devon as part of their Army, you will be contacted when the time is right with instructions on how to write in and register your objection to the plans when they are submitted, so you will not miss your opportunity to have your voice heard, and it will be effective. At that stage we will know what the Xlinks plans are, so you will be given a fact-checked and comprehensive list of approved and powerful official objections that you can use as a basis for your own, effective, objection.
When you register you will receive an email (check your spam folder, as it's an automatic response from them) confirming you are successfully registered, with basic advice we hope you follow to help spread this message and increase the Army.

Also, our crowdfund is now live. Do you want to contribute to our running costs? See our Our Funding page to find out how.
We are working with a leading firm of lawyers, but they rightly need money for their good work. Could you assist in meeting our increasing financial burden? We will soon be rolling out a pledge scheme for anyone willing to help with our legal costs.
Our finances run through the long established charity Devon CPRE (Campaign for the Protection of Rural England). All donations towards our legal bills are ringfenced as donations to us through them. We hope this reassures anyone that 100% of donated funds will go towards our fight to stop the data centre and BESS construction on ancient, beautiful and quality farmland.
Do you have experience in legal challenges of this kind? Join our team and offer your advice, it will be welcome. If you can assist, or know someone who can, please contact us today.

We are looking for people who can help us understand the concerns and pressures put on farmers, particularly those directly affected by Xlinks and the methods used to encourage them to sign their land over. If you know something that can assist our campaign, please contact us. We will treat you with confidentiality and respect, and can offer legal support if required.
