Our Purpose

We are a community-led, non-profit campaign established to protect the rural landscape, agricultural land, wildlife, heritage and communities of North Devon from the threat of the proposed Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), data centre and associated industrial infrastructure on land between Great Torrington, Huntshaw and Weare Giffard.

Our primary objective is to oppose this project and the creeping industrialisation of this area. We believe development of this scale is inappropriate for productive farmland and the surrounding countryside, and we seek planning decisions that place local communities, food security and the environment first.
